Meet Sarah,
founder of
Yoga Includes Me.

Sarah Henderson, E-RYT, believes the yoga mat is a good place to explore what it means to be fully human.

Sarah’s initial introduction to people with disabilities came at age 4, when her sister Hannah was born with Down syndrome. Throughout her career, Sarah has worked with adults and children with disabilities and their families.

She began teaching yoga in 2010 and has over 1500 hours of yoga training, including specializations in adaptive and accessible yoga, kids yoga, yoga for traumatic brain injury, yoga for larger bodies, chair yoga, gentle yoga, therapeutic applications of yoga, and yoga for trauma.

In 2013, Sarah began to specialize in adaptive and inclusive yoga. She is passionate about appreciating people’s individual strengths and encourages them to practice yoga with the body and mind they have, no matter the limitations or diagnoses that others have given them.

She lives in Charlotte, NC, where she teaches yoga to people of all abilities. Find her on Instagram @sarahhendersonyoga and Facebook at Sarah Henderson Yoga.

Sarah founded Yoga Includes Me to serve individuals with disabilities in her community. Yoga has many health benefits and can increase quality of life. Sarah recognized how many individuals with disabilities have not had opportunities to accessible yoga. Yoga Includes Me exists to help solve that challenge.
